HS2 London

HS2 London

HS2 is a new high speed train link between London, the midlands, the North and eight of Britain’s largest cities. We worked on the first phase which links London to Birmingham. Before work could proceed the largest archaeology programme ever undertaken in the UK took place. To shelter the programme, where more than 1000 archaeologists and scientists were working, a temporary roof was built. Here at Flintshire Fabrications we designed and manufactured 15 towers to hold the scaffolding up which the roof slid across.

The Structural frames we manufactured for the HS2 project were made up of two 6 meter high tubular lattice frames bolted together. One half of the frame was under ground enabling the archaeologist to dig down, leaving the other half exposed and suitable for large machinery to access the 9000sq m site.
